Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In the bowl of a food processor, pulse flour, salt, and sugar until combined. Add butter pieces, and pulse until mixture resembles coarse meal. With the machine running, gradually add milk; process until dough comes together. Cover dough with plastic wrap, and allow to relax at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Unwrap dough, and transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Roll into 17 1/2-by-17 1/2-inch square, 1/16 inch thick (if dough continues to spring back, allow to relax again, covered with plastic wrap, for another 10 minutes). Sprinkle dough lightly with coarse salt. Gently press salt into dough with the rolling pin.
- Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut dough into 2 1/2-inch squares. With a thin spatula, transfer to ungreased baking sheets. Liberally pierce with fork. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until lightly browned and crisp, rotating baking sheets if needed for even cooking. Let cool on wire rack. Keep crackers in an airtight container, at room temperature, about 1 week.
IGOR'S CRACKERS (RAW FOODS)
From Victoria Boutenko's 12 Steps to Raw Foods. I haven't tried it yet and I have to give the library book back. I read in their newsletter that they tossed some crumbs from these crackers outside for the birds and in the spring flax started growing on the spot. Now that's *live* food!

Steps:
- Grind the flaxseed in a dry Vita-Mix blender. (Or do the best you can with a more wimpy blender. i.e. the kind I have.).
- Put that into a large bowl and put the rest of the ingredients into the blender and blend.
- Mix all ingredients in the big bowl.
- Cover dough with a towel and let sit in a warm area overnight to ferment slightly.
- Use a spatula to spread dough onto non-stick dehydrating sheets and divide it into squares.
- Dehydrate until just dry if you want it to be bread-like. Dehydrate longer for crispy crackers that will keep for a couple months.

Tips:
- Use a variety of seeds and nuts: This will give your crackers a more complex flavor and texture. Some good options include chia seeds, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, walnuts, and pecans.
- Soak your seeds and nuts: This will help to activate their nutrients and make them easier to digest. You can soak them overnight in water or for a few hours in warm water.
- Use a food processor or blender to grind your seeds and nuts: This will help to create a fine flour that will bind the crackers together. You can also use a mortar and pestle, but this will take longer.
- Add seasonings to your cracker dough: This will help to give them flavor. Some good options include salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and herbs.
- Roll out your cracker dough thinly: This will help them to cook evenly. You can use a rolling pin or a pasta maker to roll out the dough.
- Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut your crackers: This will help to create clean edges and prevent the crackers from crumbling.
- Bake your crackers at a low temperature: This will help them to dry out and become crispy. The ideal baking temperature for crackers is around 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let your crackers cool completely before storing them: This will help to prevent them from becoming soft and chewy.
Conclusion:
Live food crackers are a delicious and healthy snack that is easy to make at home. They are a good source of fiber, protein, and healthy fats. They are also gluten-free and vegan. With a little creativity, you can make live food crackers that are perfect for any occasion.
