Tips:

  • Use high-quality macadamia nuts for the best flavor. Look for nuts that are plump and have a creamy white color.
  • Toast the macadamia nuts before using them in the pie crust. This will bring out their flavor and make them more fragrant.
  • Use a food processor to finely grind the macadamia nuts for the pie crust. This will help the crust to hold together better.
  • Don't over-mix the pie dough. Over-mixing will make the crust tough.
  • Chill the pie dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. This will make the dough easier to handle and less likely to stick to the rolling pin.
  • Bake the pie crust at a high temperature (425°F) for the first 15 minutes. This will help the crust to set and prevent it from becoming soggy.
  • Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F after 15 minutes and continue baking the pie for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will allow the filling to firm up and the flavors to develop.
