This came from rummaging through my friend's fridge & cupboard when I was staying in Canada recently. Everyone was shocked when I put maple syrup into a marinade, but it tasted great - even the kids loved the results. Works very well with pork and chicken.

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/8 cup maple syrup
1/2-1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 garlic clove

  • Mix marinade ingredients together.

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
fresh ground black pepper to taste
1 cup maple syrup
1 ½ pounds pork tenderloin

Steps:

  • Combine mustard, sesame oil, garlic, pepper, and maple syrup. Place pork in a shallow dish and coat thoroughly with marinade. Cover, then chill in the refrigerator at least eight hours, or overnight.
  • Preheat grill for medium-low heat.
  • Remove pork from marinade, and set aside. Transfer remaining marinade to a small saucepan, and cook on the stove over medium-low heat for 5 minutes.

2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon garlic salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound salmon

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, garlic salt, and pepper.

6 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
4 boneless pork loin chops (1-1/2 inch thick and 12 ounces each)
