- Mashed Potatoes
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add potatoes and simmer 15 minutes or until they yield to soft pressure. Drain, then transfer to a serving bowl. Using a potato masher or hand mixer, combine remaining ingredients. Serve warm with meat loaf.
Tips:
- Use high-quality ground beef. The better the beef, the better the meatloaf will be. Look for ground beef that is at least 80% lean.
- Don't overmix the meatloaf. Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Use a variety of seasonings. Meatloaf can be seasoned with a variety of herbs and spices. Some popular choices include garlic, onion, parsley, sage, and thyme.
- Add moisture to the meatloaf. Meatloaf can be dry, so it's important to add moisture to it. This can be done by adding eggs, breadcrumbs, or milk.
- Cook the meatloaf at a low temperature. Meatloaf should be cooked at a low temperature (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for a long time (1 hour per pound). This will help to keep the meatloaf moist and juicy.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing it. When the meatloaf is done cooking, let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing it. This will help to keep the juices in the meatloaf.
- Serve the meatloaf with your favorite sides. Meatloaf can be served with a variety of sides, such as mashed potatoes, green beans, or salad.
