Tips:

  • Choose the right ground meat. A combination of ground beef and ground pork is a classic choice for meatloaf, but you can also use all beef, all pork, or a mixture of beef, pork, and veal. If you're using ground turkey, be sure to add some extra fat, such as butter or olive oil, to keep the meatloaf moist.
  • Use fresh bread crumbs. Stale bread crumbs will make your meatloaf dry and crumbly. For the best results, use fresh bread crumbs that have been soaked in milk or beef broth.
  • Don't overmix the meatloaf. Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Cook the meatloaf at a low temperature. This will help to keep the meatloaf moist and prevent it from drying out. The ideal internal temperature for meatloaf is 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing. This will help to keep the juices from running out. Let the meatloaf rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Conclusion:

Italian-style stuffed meatloaf is a delicious and hearty dish that is perfect for a family meal. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a new meatloaf recipe, give this one a try. You won't be disappointed!
