Simple hot dogs prepared Michigan style. I like to serve these with dill pickle-flavored potato chips for extra tang but French fries work good too.

Time 30m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 11

8 frankfurter (5 in long x 3/4 in dia, 10 per pound)s hot dogs
1 pound lean ground beef

½ cup water
¼ cup ketchup
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • Drain ground beef mixture and return to the skillet. Stir in reserved ketchup mixture, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the quality of your ingredients, the better your hot dog will taste. Look for fresh, flavorful buns, all-beef hot dogs, and toppings that you love.
  • Cook your hot dogs properly: The best way to cook a hot dog is to grill it over medium heat. This will give it a nice smoky flavor and a crispy snap.
  • Don't overload your hot dog: A few well-chosen toppings can make a big difference, but don't go overboard. Too many toppings can overwhelm the flavor of the hot dog.
  • Get creative with your toppings: There are endless possibilities when it comes to hot dog toppings. Get creative and experiment with different flavors and combinations.
  • Enjoy your hot dog: A Michigan hot dog is a delicious and satisfying meal. Take your time and savor every bite.
