Time 55m

Yield 12 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

Butter-flavored cooking spray
1 (18.3-ounce) box fudge brownie mix (recommended: Betty Crocker)
3 eggs, divided use
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup pre-made mudslide drink (recommended: T.G.I. Friday's)
1 tablespoon instant coffee crystals
1 tablespoon hot water
1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly spray a 9 by 13-inch baking pan with butter-flavored cooking spray; set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine brownie mix, 2 eggs, vegetable oil, and mudslide drink. Mix well to combine. Transfer to prepared baking pan and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine instant coffee and 1 tablespoon of hot water. Stir together until all the coffee has dissolved. Add cream cheese, sugar and remaining egg. Using an electric mixer beat on low speed until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips. Spread over brownie mixture. Use a butter knife to cut cream cheese mixture into brownie mixture for a marble effect.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely.

Tips:

  • Prep the Ingredients: Before you start baking, have all the ingredients measured and ready to go. This will make the process smoother and less stressful.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar Well: Take the time to cream the butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy. This will help create a more tender and flavorful brownie.
  • Add Flour and Cocoa Powder Gradually: To avoid lumps, add the flour and cocoa powder to the batter in small increments, mixing well after each addition.
  • Don't Overmix: Once all the ingredients are combined, stir the batter just until it is smooth. Overmixing can lead to a tough brownie.
  • Use Quality Chocolate: For the best flavor, use high-quality chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. Semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate are good choices.
  • Bake in a Preheated Oven: Make sure your oven is fully preheated before baking the brownies. This will help ensure even cooking.
  • Cool Completely: Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help prevent them from falling apart.
  • Store Properly: Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the brownies for up to 2 months.

Conclusion:

These mudslide brownies are an indulgent and delicious treat that are perfect for any occasion. With their rich chocolate flavor and creamy Kahlua frosting, they are sure to be a hit with everyone. Whether you are a seasoned baker or just starting out, these brownies are easy to make and require only basic ingredients.
