SUPER-EASY SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS

Super-Easy Sausage and Peppers image

A simple and delicious way to serve sausage and peppers with a tomato-based sauce. This is one of my husband's and kids' favorite meals. They like it served over rice because it makes a lot of 'gravy' that soaks into the rice. It 's one of my favorites because it's quick, easy, and has only a few ingredients that I usually have on hand.

Just toss all the ingredients in your slow cooker and let the meal cook all day on low. It makes the house smell amazing and is wonderful comfort food for a chilly holiday. Tips:

  • Choose the right sausage: For the best flavor, use a high-quality sausage that is made with fresh, natural ingredients. Look for sausages that are made with a variety of meats, such as pork, beef, or lamb, and that are seasoned with herbs and spices.
  • Slice the sausage thinly: This will help the sausage to cook evenly and will also make it easier to eat. If the sausage is too thick, it will be difficult to cook through and may become dry.
  • Cook the sausage over medium heat: This will help to prevent the sausage from burning and will also allow the flavors to develop. If you cook the sausage over high heat, it will quickly brown on the outside but will be raw on the inside.
  • Add the peppers and onions towards the end of cooking: This will help to prevent them from becoming overcooked and mushy. Peppers and onions should be cooked just until they are tender and slightly caramelized.
  • Season the dish to taste: Once the sausage and peppers are cooked, taste them and add salt, pepper, and other seasonings as needed. You can also add a splash of red wine vinegar or lemon juice to brighten up the flavors.

Conclusion:

Sausage and peppers is a classic dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With a few simple tips, you can make sure that your sausage and peppers turn out perfect every time. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give this recipe a try.
