2 eggs
½ cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (16 ounce) package confectioners' sugar, plus more for dusting
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Mix cake mix and 2 eggs together in a bowl. Add butter and vanilla extract; mix until batter is smooth and thick. Spread batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • Beat confectioners' sugar, cream cheese, and 2 eggs together in a bowl until smooth; spread over batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until sides of cake are pulled away from dish and browned, 25 to 35 minutes. Cool cake completely. Sprinkle more confectioners' sugar over cooled cake.

One 15.25-ounce box yellow cake mix
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
One 8-ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
2 large eggs
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
3 cups confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • For the crust: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Combine the cake mix, nutmeg, vanilla and eggs in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Beat on medium speed until smooth, about 1 minute. Add the melted butter and mix just until combined. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • For the filling: Beat the cream cheese in a clean mixer bowl with the paddle on medium speed until light and smooth, scraping the sides occasionally, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the vanilla bean paste and eggs and beat until smooth. Add the melted butter and beat until smooth. Add the confectioners' sugar and beat on low speed to incorporate, and then beat on medium until light and smooth, about 1 minute. Pour over the cake layer and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake until the edges are puffed and golden brown and the center is just set, 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool before cutting into squares to serve.

1 large egg
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (softened)

1 Tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup butter (softened)
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chocolate covered toffee bits (Heath bits)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch pan or cupcake/muffin tins.
  • In a mixing bowl combine cake mix, egg and softened butter until well blended. Gently press into bottom of prepared pan.
  • Then in another bowl beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add in eggs, vanilla, and butter and mix well. Then add in the powdered sugar and beat until well blended.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and toffee chips. Spread over the cake mix bottom that is in the prepared pan.
  • Bake for about 40 minutes. You'll want it to be golden brown and the center just a little gooey.
  • This serves about 24 if you make it in a 9 x 13 or in cupcake tins.
  • **If making these in the cupcake tin you will want to roll the bottom cake mixture into about 24 little balls and press gently into the generously greased and floured cupcake tins. (Do not use cupcake liners, they stick really bad) Then add a generous spoonful of the cream cheese mixture to the top of each. Cook for about 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Cool and loosen around the edges with a small knife before removing from pan. They may stick a little so loosen gently and lift out.
  • Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and ice cream toppings.

Cookie crumbs, your choice
Handful of nuts, preferably pecans
Hot fudge
Butter, for greasing pan, plus 16 tablespoons (2 sticks) butter, melted, divided
1 (18.25-ounce) package chocolate cake mix
3 eggs, divided
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 to 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar

1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Cut Ooey Gooey Butter Cake into bite-sized pieces, adding it to chocolate ice cream.Crumble your choice of cookies and add to the ice cream while adding your choice of nuts. Add hot fudge to your desire and mix together.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly butter a 13 by 9-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and 8 tablespoons (1 stick) melted butter, and stir until well blended. Pat mixture into prepared pan and set aside. In a stand mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the remaining 2 eggs, and the cocoa powder. Lower the speed of the mixer, and add the powdered sugar.   • 1. Pre-heat oven to 350. Butter and flour a 9x13 baking pan and set aside.
  • 2. Using an electric mixer, blend the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, butter and 1 egg on low speed until it resembles coarse meal. Press mixture into prepared pan.
  • 3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla and remaining 2 eggs for 3 minutes or until light and fluffy. Pour over cake mixture.

1/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour

  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with baking spray with flour.
  • In large bowl, beat cake mix, flour, water, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in 1/2 cup of the toffee bits. Pour into pan.
  • Reserve 1/2 cup dulce de leche. Spoon remaining dulce de leche by teaspoonfuls onto batter.
  • Bake 34 to 42 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. In small microwavable bowl, microwave reserved dulce de leche on High 10 to 15 seconds or until softened; spread evenly over top of cake. Sprinkle with remaining toffee bits. Cool about 1 hour before serving. Top each serving with whipped cream and caramel topping.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Steps:

  • Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Set aside an ungreased 13- x 9-inch baking pan.
  • For the crust, place the cake mix, melted butter, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed for 2 minutes. Stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. The batter should come together in a ball. With your fingertips, pat the batter evenly over the bottom of the pan, smoothing it out with your finges. Set the pan aside.
  • For the filling, place the cream cheese in the same mixing bowl and with the same beaters (no need to clean either) blend with an electric mixer on low speed until fluffy, 30 seconds. Stop the maching and add the eggs, vanilla, and melted butter and beat on medium speed for 1 minute. Stop the machine and add the confectioners' sugar. Beat on medium speed until sugar is well incorporated, 1 minute. Stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula.
  • Pour the filling onto the crust and spread with rubber spatula so that the filling covers the entire surface and reaches the sides of the pan. Place the pan in the oven.
  • Bake until well browned but the center still jiggles when you shake the pan, 45-47 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool, 30 minutes. Cut into squares and serve.
  • Cake may be stored, covered in aluminum foil, at room temperature for up to 4 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. It may be frozen for up to 6 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

2 stick real butter, melted, seperate
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 box (16 oz) powdered sugar
3/4 c fresh, chopped strawberries (make sure they aren't wet from washing them)
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, room temperature

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and 1 stick melted butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the 2 eggs, vanilla, and the other stick of melted butter and beat together. Next, add the powdered sugar and mix well. Fold in strawberries. Spread over cake batter and bake for 45 to 60 minutes. Make sure not to over bake as the center should be a little gooey.
  • 2. You can try this with PEACHES too!! I just get peaches in the can. Just make sure that you drain them really well and dice them. I usually add about 1 cup to the mixture. But you could proably add 1 1/2 cups.

Proceed: as directed above. Carrot Cake: Use a spice cake mix, and add 1 cup chopped nuts and 1 1/2 cup finely grated carrots to the cream cheese filling. Proceed as directed above. Peanut Butter: Use a chocolate cake mix. Add 1 cup creamy peanut butter and an extra egg to cream cheese filling. You can sprinkle the top of batter with 1 cup chopped peanuts if you like. Proceed as directed above. Chocolate Chip: Use either yellow or chocolate cake mix. Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup chopped nuts on top of filling. Proceed as directed above. Banana: Use a yellow cake mix. Prepare cream cheese filling as directed, beating in 2 ripe bananas and an extra egg. Proceed as directed above. Nutty: Use a yellow cake mix, and add 1 cup chopped nuts to the cake mixture. Proceed as directed above. 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix
1/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 bag (8 oz) chocolate-coated toffee bits
1 can (13.4 oz) dulce de leche (caramelized sweetened condensed milk)
Sweetened whipped cream, if desired
Caramel topping, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with baking spray with flour.
  • In large bowl, beat cake mix, flour, water, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in 1/2 cup of the toffee bits. Pour into pan.
  • Reserve 1/2 cup dulce de leche. Spoon remaining dulce de leche by teaspoonfuls onto batter.
  • Bake 34 to 42 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes. In small microwavable bowl, microwave reserved dulce de leche on High 10 to 15 seconds or until softened; spread evenly over top of cake. Sprinkle with remaining toffee bits. Cool about 1 hour before serving. Top each serving with whipped cream and caramel topping.

1 package (18 oz) Strawberry Cake mix
1/2 cup Butter, softened
4 large Eggs, divided
1 (8 oz) package Cream Cheese, softened
1 (16 oz) box Confectioners Sugar
3/4 cup chopped fresh Strawberries
Sweetened Whipped Cream (optional)
Strawberry for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 baking pan. In a large bowl combine cake mix, butter and one egg. Press mixture into pan. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and 3 eggs at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually beat in confectioners sugar until well combined. Stir in the fresh strawberries. Pour cream cheese batter over the cake mixture. Bake for 35 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely, cut into squares to serve. Garnish with whipped cream and strawberries, if desired.

The 'Southern' traditional get together cake. Passed on to me from a co-worker. It takes some work binding all the ingredients and spreading them into the pans, but the effort is well worth it!

1 box yellow cake mix (or golden butter mix)
1/2 c butter or margarine (one stick) softened
3 eggs
1 c pecans, chopped (optional)
1 pkg confectioners' sugar (16 oz)
1 pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. For the bottom layer, combine in a large bowl, the cake mix, the softened butter, 1 egg, and the nuts (if used). Mixture will be thick. Spread into a greased and floured 13x9 inch pan.
  • 2. For the top layer, combine the confectioners (powdered) sugar, the softened cream cheese, the vanilla and the remaining eggs. Again, the mixture will be thick. Spread over the bottom layer.
  • 3. Bake at 350 degree F oven for 40-45 minutes, or until done. Cool completely, and store covered at room temperature if there's anything left.
