ORANGE PUSH-UP SMOOTHIE

Orange Push-Up Smoothie image

This smoothie tastes like a classic Orange PushUp. If you like Orange PushUps, Orange Creamsicles, Orange Julius, or orange soda, you'll love this easy, sweet and creamy smoothie. The recipe makes more than you may need at once. Pour the extra into glasses and thaw later for smoothies or pour into bowls for orange sherbet; or into popsicle molds, paper cups, or ice cube trays. Or simply halve the recipe. Add sugar to taste. It will vary significantly based on personal preference and brand of concentrate used. I used Hawaii's Own brand in the mango-orange flavor from Ralph's (Kroger) grocery. The smoothie is vegan provided vegan milk is used and is gluten-free.

Tips:

  • Utilize ripe oranges: Select ripe and juicy oranges for a sweeter and flavorful smoothie. Softer oranges are often a good indication of ripeness.
  • Chill ingredients beforehand: Pre-chill your oranges, yogurt, and milk for a thicker and creamier smoothie. This also helps the smoothie stay cool for a longer time.
  • Adjust the thickness: If you prefer a thicker smoothie, use less milk or add more yogurt and ice. For a thinner consistency, add more milk or reduce the amount of yogurt and ice.
  • Sweeten to taste: The natural sweetness of oranges might be enough, but you can add honey, maple syrup, or stevia to taste, if desired.
  • Add-ins for variety: Feel free to personalize your smoothie with different add-ins such as protein powder, chopped nuts, chia seeds, or leafy greens like spinach or kale for an extra nutrient boost.

Conclusion:

The orange push-up smoothie is a delightful and nutritious treat that combines the refreshing taste of oranges with the goodness of yogurt, milk, and honey. Its vibrant color and creamy texture make it an appealing option for both kids and adults. By following these tips, you can create a delicious and customizable smoothie that suits your preferences. Experiment with different add-ins to create a unique and refreshing smoothie experience every time.
