THE BEST ALMOND PASTE BARS

The Best Almond Paste Bars image

A Dutch treat, these are better than any you will find in a bakery. Be careful not to eat the whole pan ;)

Provided by hum_butterfly

Categories     Bar Cookie

Time 1h

Yield 24 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1/2 cup oil
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 eggs
1 cup almond paste
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon almond flavoring

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Beat together butter, flour, oil, first cup of sugar, baking powder, and first round of eggs until smooth and set aside.
  • Beat together the almond paste, second cup of sugar, second round of eggs and almond flavoring until smooth.
  • Combine both mixtures.
  • Grease a 9x13" pan (Pam is fine), and evenly pour in mixture.
  • Bake for 30 to 45 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Enjoy!

Tips:

  • To make sure the bark is smooth and even, use a metal baking sheet that is at least 12x18 inches. A larger baking sheet will make the bark too thin and brittle.
  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat before pouring the melted chocolate. This will make it easy to remove the bark from the pan once it has set.
  • If you want to add nuts, sprinkles, or other toppings to the bark, do so immediately after pouring the melted chocolate. The chocolate will start to set quickly, so you don't want to wait too long.
  • Let the bark cool completely before breaking it into pieces. This will help prevent it from crumbling.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Pastel almond bark is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a beautiful and festive bark that is sure to impress your friends and family. So next time you're looking for a sweet snack, give pastel almond bark a try!
