- Preheat oven to 325°F Grease 10" tube pan, combine 3 Tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, coat pan with sugar mixture.
- Mix flour, soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon; set aside. Beat oil and sugar until blended. Beat in eggs, one at a time, and then stir in apples and vanilla. Add flour mixture until blended; stir in pecans and raisins.
- Transfer to pan and then drop and shake the pan to release bubbles.
- Bake 1 1/2 hours - 1 3/4 hours until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on rack 15 minutes, remove from pan and glaze.

- Preheat the oven to 325 °F. Generously grease a tube pan.
- For the cake: in a large bowl, combine 2 cups sugar, eggs, oil, orange juice, flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, salt, cinnamon and vanilla extract; and mix well. Fold apples, coconut and pecans into batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until a tester comes out clean, about 1 1/2 hours.
- Shortly before the cake is done, make the sauce: Melt the butter in a large saucepan, stir in 1 cup sugar, buttermilk and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, and bring to a good rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute. Pour the sauce over the hot cake in the pan as soon as you remove it from the oven. Let stand 1 hour, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
UNCLE BOB'S FRESH APPLE CAKE
Steps:
- Add confectioner's sugar, honey and milk to a small bowl and stir until smooth. Set the bowl aside.
- Preheat the oven to 325 °F. Lightly grease a Bundt pan or tube pan.
- In a bowl, mix together the apples, walnuts, vanilla and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Using an electric mixer beat the sugar, oil and eggs in a large bowl. Add in the dry ingredients and beat until completely combined. Fold in the apple mixture.
- Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until a tester inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to fully cool in the pan, about 1 hour, and then turn it out onto a plate.
- Drizzle the apple cake with some of the honey glaze, serve and enjoy!

- Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan.
- Mix cinnamon, 3/4 cup of sugar, and apples in a bowl; set aside. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl. Beat the eggs and 2 cups of sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy. - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 10 inch tube pan. Combine the ground cinnamon and 5 teaspoons of the sugar together and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder and 2 cups of the sugar. Stir in the vegetable oil, beaten eggs, orange juice and vanilla. Mix well.
