This recipe for peanut butter ball cookies is a nice change from the typical milk chocolate and peanut butter combination. I once prepared them for a bake sale at my granddaughter's school, and I've also put them in gift boxes to share with neighbors at Christmas. -Wanda Regula, Birmingham, Michigan

PEANUT BUTTER SNOWBALLS

After reading the last two reviews, I checked the ingredients. I made a mistake in the amount of powdered sugar. I did correct it.These cookies are fantastic for any occasion. My aunt tinted the coconut different pastel colors for her daughters wedding. This is my Aunts recipe. It has been in the family for more that 40 years. These also freeze well. I'm not sure how many cookies this recipe makes but I will guess on the amount. We use Jiff extra crunchy.

Christmas favorite!

Provided by Peggy Bockler

Categories     Candies

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 c powdered sugar
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
3 Tbsp butter, softened
1 pkg white almond bark

Steps:

  • 1. Combine sugar, peanut butter and butter in a bowl and mix well. Shape into 1-inch balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Chill until firm.
  • 2. Melt almond bark in microwave, double boiler or slow cooker. Dip balls in almond bark and place on wax paper to harden.
  • 3. NOTE: When using 1 package of almond bark like the recipe states, for me there is enough to make two batches of the snowballs plus have some left over to coat pretzels.

Tips:

  • Use creamy peanut butter for a smooth and rich flavor.
  • Chill the peanut butter mixture for at least 30 minutes before rolling into balls. This will make them easier to handle and less likely to stick to your hands.
  • If the peanut butter mixture is too dry, add a little milk or cream to help bring it together.
  • Roll the peanut butter balls in powdered sugar immediately after dipping them in melted chocolate. This will help the sugar stick and prevent it from melting into the chocolate.
  • Store the peanut butter snowballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Peanut butter snowballs are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With their combination of creamy peanut butter, rich chocolate, and sweet powdered sugar, peanut butter snowballs are sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering. So next time you're looking for a fun and easy holiday treat, give peanut butter snowballs a try!
