RICH & GOOEY PECAN PIE BARS

Rich & Gooey Pecan Pie Bars image

I begged for this recipe from my next-door neighbor, when I was in jr. high. She and her sisters used to do some catering on the side, and this was one of their most requested items. This recipe utilizes yellow cake mix for the crust, and not a single egg! Rich, gooey, and oh so good! (NOTE: Pillsbury Moist Deluxe is the best cake mix for these.)

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips or chopped walnuts in place of pecans.
  • To make the bars extra gooey, add an extra 1/2 cup of brown sugar to the filling.
  • If you don't have a 9x13 inch baking pan, you can use a 10-inch springform pan. Just be sure to adjust the baking time accordingly.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help them to set and prevent them from falling apart.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Conclusion:

Pecan Pie Bars with Cake Mix are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. They are gooey, rich, and packed with flavor.
