Pro Wonton Soup Recipe Methods & Tricks:

-
  • Prep your ingredients: Mise en place (pronounced "mee-z-en-plas"), is a French term meaning "putting in place". It is used to describe organizing the preparation of ingredients. -
  • Cook wontons separate from the broth: This helps keep the wonton wraps from disintegrating and the broth clear. -
  • Use fresh ginger and green onions: These two ingredients pack a lot of flavors so it's worth using fresh if you can. -
  • Don't skimp on the sesame oil: A little bit of sesame oil goes a long way and adds a nutty, toasty aroma. -
  • Use a good quality chicken stock: The quality of your stock will significantly impact the final result, so use a good one or make your own. -
  • Adjust the seasoning to taste: Every palate is different so feel free to add more or less of any ingredient to suit your taste. -
  • Serve with your favorite toppings: Some popular toppings include green onions, cilantro, wonton strips, and sesame seeds.
