Pineapple dressing is a sweet and tangy sauce that can be used to add flavor to a variety of dishes, from salads to grilled meats. It is also a popular ingredient in Hawaiian cuisine. The main ingredient in pineapple dressing is, of course, pineapple. Fresh pineapple is best, but canned pineapple can be used in a pinch. Other common ingredients include mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, and vinegar. Some recipes also call for the addition of spices, such as ginger or garlic. Pineapple dressing is easy to make at home, and it can be tailored to your liking.

PINEAPPLE DRESSING

Pineapple Dressing image

I got this recipe from my grandmother. She goofed up a recipe for baked pineapple and actually came up with a better dish, or we think so. Easy to make. You can assemble the day before and bake when ready.

Provided by Sara E.

Categories     Pineapple

Time 40m

Yield 1 pan, 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
6 -10 slices white bread

  • Bake 350 for 30-45 minutes. Top should begin to brown when it is done.
  • I almost always double the recipe, use a 9 x 13 pan, and bake for 1 hour.

CREAMY GINGERED PINEAPPLE SALAD DRESSING

Creamy Gingered Pineapple Salad Dressing image

A quick an easy salad dressing. This is wonderful over grilled pork or a green salad with fresh citrus; as well as grilled chicken and seafood. The pineapple juice is just from a can of sliced pineapple (unsweetened), and I will use the pineapple as a garnish, often grilling it. Fresh ginger and the honey dijon mustard really makes a difference in this dressing.

Provided by SarasotaCook

Categories     Sauces

Time 7m

Yield 1 1/4 cups salad dressing, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup pineapple juice, unsweetened
2 tablespoons honey dijon mustard (if you don't have honey dijon mustard, use 2 tablespoons dijon and 1/2 tablespoon honey)
2 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup pineapple juice

Steps:

  • Option -- You can use a mix of orange juice and pineapple rather than all pineapple if you think pineapple is too sweet. I happen to love it with the mustard and ginger. But you can mix the two if you prefer.
  • Dressing -- Just add all the ingredients and whisk well to combine. Chill at least 30 minutes.
  • Serve -- ENJOY! Serve over your favorite greens, pork, chicken, or seafood.

MOM'S 5 CUP SALAD WITH PINEAPPLE DRESSING

Mom's 5 Cup Salad With Pineapple Dressing image

When I lost this recipe, I searched everywhere for one just like it. None of them had the dressing, which, IMO, makes this fruit salad. The dressing is very similar to what's used in Taffy Apple Salads, so I used that for awhile. I finally found my mom's recipe in a basket full of old recipes and want to post it here. I could eat all of this in one sitting. I don't care for the coconut, so I don't add it. I also guessed on the number of servings. Prep time includes time spent whisking dressing.

PINEAPPLE DRESSING

Pineapple Dressing image

received this recipie from my daughter whose mother in law makes this everytime she prepares a ham dinner. I have tried it and my family loves it - it is now served everytime we have ham. Enjoy!

Provided by kathleen weber

Categories     Dressings

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt
8 1/2 oz crushed pineapple
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp dark mustard
PINEAPPLE DRESSING

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients in a small pot. Cook over low to medium heat until mixture thickens. Serve immediately. great with ham.

Tips:

  • Use fresh pineapple: Fresh pineapple is essential for the best flavor. If you don't have fresh pineapple on hand, you can use canned pineapple in its own juice, but be sure to drain it well before using.
  • Choose the right vinegar: The type of vinegar you use will affect the flavor of your dressing. White vinegar is a good all-purpose choice, but you can also use apple cider vinegar, rice vinegar, or balsamic vinegar for a more complex flavor.
  • Add some herbs or spices: Herbs and spices can add a lot of flavor to your dressing. Try adding some chopped fresh cilantro, basil, or mint, or a pinch of ground cumin, ginger, or turmeric.
  • Let the dressing marinate: Allowing the dressing to marinate for at least 30 minutes before using will help the flavors to meld together. You can marinate the dressing in the refrigerator or at room temperature.

Conclusion:

Pineapple dressing is a versatile dressing that can be used on a variety of dishes, from salads to grilled meats and fish. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a delicious and refreshing dressing, give pineapple dressing a try!
