Time 1h35m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 lbs thick pork chops
1 onion, cut into thin slices
1 lemon, cut in thin slices
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Season pork chops with salt and place in large baking dish.
  • Top each pork chop with an onion slice and a lemon slice.
  • Mix brown sugar and ketchup; spoon a couple of tablespoons over each chop.
  • Cover and bake 1 hour.
  • Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer, basting occasionally.

Tips:

  • To ensure juicy and flavorful pork chops, choose chops that are at least 1 inch thick and have a good amount of marbling.
  • Don't overcook the pork chops. Cook them to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare or 155 degrees Fahrenheit for medium.
  • Use a meat mallet to pound the pork chops to an even thickness. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Season the pork chops generously with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs and spices. You can also add a marinade or rub to enhance the flavor.
  • Sear the pork chops in a hot skillet over medium-high heat until they are browned on both sides. Then reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the pork chops for 8-10 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through.
  • Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute and make the chops more tender.

Conclusion:

Pork chops are a versatile and delicious cut of meat that can be cooked in a variety of ways.
