PUMPKIN COFFEE CAKE WITH BROWN SUGAR GLAZE RECIPE

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/3 cup water
1 (15 ounce) can pureed pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup all purpose flour
4 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix water, pumpkin, eggs, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice. Mix in cake mix (just the dry mix, not the ingredients listed on the box) and baking soda and mix until combined. Pour batter into a greased 9x13 baking pan. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, flour and melted butter. Sprinkle over the top of the cake. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Serve your cake when warm or cooled to room temperature.

Tips:

  • Choosing the Right Ingredients: Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Choose ripe bananas for a moist and flavorful banana bread, and use good-quality chocolate chips for the chocolate chip cookies.
  • Proper Measuring: Use measuring cups and spoons to ensure accurate measurements. This will help you achieve the desired consistency and texture in your baked goods.
  • Mixing and Folding: When mixing ingredients, be careful not to overmix. Overmixing can result in tough, dense baked goods. When folding ingredients, such as whipped egg whites or chocolate chips, use a gentle folding motion to incorporate them without deflating the mixture.
  • Baking Times and Temperatures: Follow the baking times and temperatures specified in the recipes. Ovens can vary, so it's important to adjust the baking time if necessary. Use a toothpick or cake tester to check for doneness before removing the baked goods from the oven.
  • Cooling and Storing: Allow baked goods to cool completely before storing them. This will help them retain their moisture and flavor. Store baked goods in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator, depending on the recipe.

Conclusion:

Baking is a fun and rewarding experience that allows you to create delicious and comforting treats for yourself and your loved ones. With careful attention to detail and a little practice, you can master the art of baking and create mouthwatering baked goods that will impress everyone. Remember to experiment with different recipes, techniques, and ingredients to discover new favorites and expand your baking repertoire.
