PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE

My take on our corner coffee shop's seasonal pumpkin latte. I loved it so much I HAD to do something! You can use canned 'pumpkin pie mix' if you like, since it contains the pumpkin pie spice ingredients already. Top with nutmeg or cinnamon if you like. Enjoy!

This recipe calls for canned pumpkin, but I like to use my home-grown produce instead.-Sheila Compton, Summerside, Prince Edward Island

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the bars will taste. Use fresh pumpkin purée, real butter, and high-quality chocolate chips.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the bars until they are set. The bars should be set in the center when you insert a toothpick. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bars are done.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help them hold their shape.
