1 12 ounce package bow tie pasta (Farfalle), (cooked to package instructions)
1 pound Italian sausage
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 15 ounce jar Alfredo sauce
1 24 ounce jar spaghetti sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella

Steps:

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown sausage with garlic and red pepper flakes. Drain and return to skillet.
  • Turn heat down to medium.
  • Stir in spaghetti sauce. Bring to a simmer, and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes.

4 cups penne noodles
1 teaspoon salt (more to taste)
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 pound ground Italian sausage (spicy or mild, your preference)
2 tablespoons butter
3 teaspoons minced garlic
½-1 cup sliced mushrooms (see note)
1 cup reduced sodium chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
cracked black pepper (to taste)
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
fresh parsley or thyme for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • In a deep skillet, or pot, bring 4 cups water to a boil. Stir in penne noodles along with 1 teaspoon salt. Boil 6-9 minutes until fork-tender. Drain, toss with 1 teaspoon oil, and set aside.
  • In the same skillet you used for the pasta (or a new one if you used a pot) cook sausage over medium-high heat, breaking up with a spoon or spatula as it cooks, for 6-8 minutes or until completely browned. Use a slotted spoon to transfer to a bowl and cover to keep warm.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the pan. Once melted, stir in garlic 1-2 minutes til fragrant. Add mushrooms and saute 3-4 minutes until very tender.

1 lb cavatappi pasta
1 lb Italian sausage (mild or hot)
1 cup sweet onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups canned tomatoes, strained and diced (If you want to use fresh tomatoes, add them to the mixture with the onion and garlic)
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1 cup half and half milk
1/2 cup parmesan cheese (optional) or 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, to garnish (optional)
fresh parsley, basil (optional) or green onion, chopped to garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • Put large pot of salted water on high and bring to a boil.
  • Meanwhile, squeeze sausage meat out of the casings into a large frying pan, over medium-high heat. Roughly chop meat. When the sausage is no longer pink, add onion and garlic to the pan. Stir and sauté until onion is softened.

3/4 pound bulk Italian sausage
4-1/2 teaspoons olive oil
1-1/2 teaspoons butter

2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup grated Romano cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
