1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup flour, sifted
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon shortening
1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Combine butter, brown sugar, and vanilla and beat until creamy.
  • Beat in the eggs.
  • Add the flour and oatmeal.
  • Spread in a greased 9x13 pan.
  • Bake at 350F for 20 minutes.
  • Cool slightly.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with aluminum foil.

2 cups packed light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon powdered instant coffee
3 cups quick-cooking oats
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
