Yield Makes 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/2 pound cabbage, cored and thinly sliced (6 cups)
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
1 1/2 tablespoons honey mustard
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
5 radishes, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Toss cabbage with salt in a large bowl and let stand, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, whisk together oil, vinegar, honey mustard, and pepper in a small bowl until combined.
  • Rinse cabbage with cold water in a colander, then firmly squeeze handfuls to remove excess water and transfer cabbage to cleaned bowl. Add radishes and dressing to cabbage, tossing to combine.

Tips:

  • Choose the right radishes. For the best flavor and texture, select radishes that are small, firm, and have a bright red color. Avoid radishes that are large, soft, or have blemishes.
  • Wash the radishes thoroughly. Scrub the radishes under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Be sure to remove the root end and any leaves.
  • Slice the radishes thinly. Use a sharp knife or mandoline to slice the radishes into thin, even slices. This will help them absorb the dressing better.
  • Add other vegetables. In addition to radishes, you can add other vegetables to your coleslaw, such as shredded cabbage, carrots, or bell peppers. This will add flavor and texture to the salad.
  • Use a flavorful dressing. A simple vinaigrette or creamy dressing is a great option for coleslaw. Be sure to season the dressing to taste.
  • Chill the coleslaw before serving. This will help the flavors to meld and the coleslaw to become more refreshing.

Conclusion:

Radish coleslaw is a delicious and refreshing side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. With a few simple tips, you can make the perfect radish coleslaw that will be enjoyed by everyone.
