  • Bake 375 degrees F for 30 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  • Note: Rind and juice of 1/2 a fresh lemon or orange may be added.

Tips:

  • Choose Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh, ripe grapes for the best flavor. Choose grapes that are plump and free of blemishes.
  • Make Your Own Raisins: If you have access to fresh grapes, you can make your own raisins. Simply wash the grapes, remove the stems, and place them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 140°F (60°C) for 12-24 hours, or until the grapes are dry and wrinkled.
  • Use a Variety of Spices: Don't be afraid to experiment with different spices to flavor your raisin filling. Some popular choices include cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
  • Add a Touch of Citrus: A squeeze of lemon or orange juice can brighten up the flavor of your raisin filling.
  • Thicken the Filling: If you find that your raisin filling is too thin, you can thicken it with a little cornstarch or flour. Just be sure to whisk it in until it's completely dissolved.
  • Let the Filling Cool Completely: Before you use the raisin filling in your pie, let it cool completely. This will help prevent the pie from becoming soggy.

Conclusion:

Raisin pie filling is a delicious and versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of desserts. With its sweet and tangy flavor, raisin filling is a perfect way to add a touch of homey goodness to your next pie, tart, or pastry.
