ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS

Roasted Brussels Sprouts image

This recipe is from my mother. It may sound strange, but these are really good and very easy to make. The Brussels sprouts should be brown with a bit of black on the outside when done. Any leftovers can be reheated or even just eaten cold from the fridge. I don't know how, but they taste sweet and salty at the same time!

Tips:

  • Choose the right Brussels sprouts: Look for firm, deep green Brussels sprouts that are about 1-2 inches in diameter.
  • Trim the Brussels sprouts: Cut off the stem end and any discolored leaves.
  • Roast the Brussels sprouts at a high temperature: This will help them caramelize and develop a crispy exterior.
  • Use a variety of seasonings: Agave and spicy mustard are a great combination, but you can also use other spices like garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or chili powder.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: If you overcrowd the pan, the Brussels sprouts will steam instead of roast.
  • Roast the Brussels sprouts until they are tender: You should be able to easily pierce them with a fork.

Conclusion:

Roasted Brussels sprouts with agave and spicy mustard is a delicious and healthy side dish that is perfect for any occasion. The agave adds a touch of sweetness, while the spicy mustard provides a nice kick. These roasted Brussels sprouts are sure to be a hit at your next party or potluck.
