Tips:

  • Choose the right apples: Use firm, crisp apples that hold their shape well when sliced, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady.
  • Thinly slice the apples: This will help them absorb the dressing and cook evenly.
  • Toast the pecans: Toasting the pecans will bring out their flavor and make them more crunchy.
  • Make the dressing ahead of time: The dressing can be made up to 2 days in advance. Just whisk it together and store it in a jar in the refrigerator.
  • Toss the salad just before serving: This will prevent the dressing from wilting the lettuce.

Conclusion:

This salad is a delicious and healthy way to enjoy the flavors of fall. The apples, pecans, and balsamic vinaigrette dressing are a perfect combination of sweet, savory, and tangy. This salad is also very easy to make, and it can be tailored to your own taste preferences. For example, you can add more or less dressing, or you can add other ingredients such as crumbled bacon or blue cheese. This salad is perfect for a light lunch or dinner, and it can also be served as a side dish.
