Tips:

  • Choose fresh and tender zucchini: Look for zucchini that are firm and have smooth, unblemished skin. Avoid zucchini that are too large, as they may be tough and seedy.
  • Slice the zucchini evenly: This will help them cook evenly. If you are using a mandoline, be sure to use the guard to protect your fingers.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When sautéing the zucchini, be sure to work in batches if necessary. Overcrowding the pan will prevent the zucchini from cooking evenly.
  • Cook the zucchini over medium-high heat: This will help them brown and caramelize. Be sure to stir the zucchini frequently to prevent them from burning.
  • Add the tomatoes and garlic towards the end of cooking: This will prevent them from overcooking and becoming mushy.
  • Season the zucchini to taste: Once they are cooked, season them with salt, pepper, and any other desired herbs and spices.
  • Garnish with fresh basil: This will add a pop of color and flavor to the dish.

Conclusion:

Sautéed zucchini with cherry tomatoes, garlic, and basil is a quick and easy side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is healthy, delicious, and can be easily customized to your liking. So next time you are looking for a simple and flavorful side dish, give this recipe a try.
