This meatloaf recipe is very flavorful, and as the proverbial description goes, 'melts in your mouth.' As far as vegetables, I only used onions, but their sweetness, along with the simple brown sugar glaze, were a great counterpoint to the others flavors.

This recipe was published in a 1999 issue of Wine Enthusiast magazine. I find myself making meatloaf just so I can make these sandwiches. I hope you like them, too! Sometimes I use mozzarella cheese instead of Jack. These taste great with potato chips or french fries & a dill pickle on the side. Yum!

Tips:
- Choose the right ground beef: 80/20 ground beef is ideal for meatloaf sandwiches because it has enough fat to keep the meatloaf moist and flavorful, but not so much that it's greasy.
- Season the meatloaf well: Don't be afraid to use a generous amount of seasonings in your meatloaf. This is what will give it flavor. Some good options include garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt and pepper.
- Use a variety of vegetables: Adding vegetables to your meatloaf will help to keep it moist and flavorful. Some good options include diced onion, celery, carrots, and bell peppers.
- Don't overcook the meatloaf: Meatloaf is best when it's cooked to an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Overcooking it will make it dry and tough.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing it: Letting the meatloaf rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing it will help to keep it from falling apart.
- Serve the meatloaf sandwiches with your favorite toppings: Some good options include ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, and cheese.
Conclusion:
Meatloaf sandwiches are a classic American comfort food that are perfect for a quick and easy meal. With so many different ways to make them, there's sure to be a recipe that everyone will enjoy.
