SAVORY SLOW COOKER RIBS
Steps:
- Combine the dark brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. This is the rub for your ribs. Slather it on generously and don't be shy! Allow the ribs to sit for approximately 30 minutes. Separate the ribs as needed in order for them to fit properly in the crock pot. Then layer until all ribs have been added. Pour the Coca-Cola over the ribs although do so gently as you don't want to remove the rub you have so generously applied. Cook on low for 8 hours for best results. Finally, remove the ribs from the crock pot and place them on a baking sheet. Apply more BBQ sauce and then broil for approximately 3-5 minutes. You could also throw them on the grill for a few minutes to crisp them up but this kind of defeats the purpose of this recipe if you ask me. Serve and enjoy!
Tips:
- Choose the right cut of ribs: Look for meaty ribs with good marbling. Avoid ribs that are too thin or fatty.
- Season the ribs well: Use a combination of spices and herbs to create a flavorful rub. Some popular options include garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili powder, and cumin.
- Cook the ribs on low heat: This will help them to cook evenly and become fall-off-the-bone tender.
- Add liquid to the slow cooker: This will help to keep the ribs moist and prevent them from drying out. Good options include water, broth, or beer.
- Cook the ribs for at least 6 hours: This will ensure that they are cooked through and tender.
- Let the ribs rest before serving: This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making them even more flavorful.
Conclusion:
Slow-cooker ribs are a delicious and easy way to enjoy this classic comfort food. By following these tips, you can create fall-off-the-bone tender ribs that are sure to impress your family and friends. So next time you're looking for a hearty and flavorful meal, give slow-cooker ribs a try.
