Time 5m

Yield 4 , 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 lb frozen strawberries or 1 lb fruit
1/2 cup yogurt, creme fraiche or 1/2 cup silken tofu
1/4 cup sugar

Steps:

  • Put the frozen fruit, yogurt and sugar in a food processor container along with a couple of tablespoons of water. Process until just pureed and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. If the fruit does not break down completely, add a little more water through the feed tube, a tablespoon or two at a time; be careful not to over-process or the sorbet will liquefy.
  • Serve immediately or freeze for later. (If serving later, allow 10 to 15 minutes for sorbet to soften at room temperature.).

Tips:

  • Use ripe, flavorful fruit. The better the fruit, the better the sorbetto. Choose fruit that is in season and at its peak of ripeness.
  • Freeze the fruit before making the sorbetto. This will help to create a smooth, icy texture.
  • Use a food processor or blender to puree the fruit. Be sure to puree the fruit until it is very smooth, with no lumps.
  • Add sugar or honey to taste. Sorbetto should be sweet, but not too sweet. Start with a small amount of sugar or honey and add more to taste.
  • Freeze the sorbetto for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow it to firm up and develop its full flavor.
  • Garnish the sorbetto with fresh fruit, mint, or other herbs before serving. This will add a pop of color and flavor.

Conclusion:

Sorbetto is a delicious and refreshing dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious and refreshing sorbetto that will impress your friends and family.
