Tips:

  • Choose the right sausage: Italian sausage, breakfast sausage, or kielbasa are all good options for this recipe. If you want a spicier dish, choose a sausage with a higher spice level.
  • Brown the sausage: Browning the sausage before adding it to the slow cooker helps to develop its flavor and prevent it from becoming dry.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: This recipe calls for onions, green peppers, and mushrooms, but you can use any vegetables that you like. Some other good options include carrots, celery, potatoes, and zucchini.
  • Add some liquid: The sauce will need some liquid to help it cook, so add a cup of water, broth, or tomato juice to the slow cooker.
  • Season the sauce: Be sure to season the sauce with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices to taste.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours: This will allow the sausage and vegetables to cook through and the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes: This dish is hearty and filling, so it's perfect for a weeknight meal. Serve it over your favorite side dish and enjoy!

Conclusion:

Slow cooker sausage with sauce is a delicious and easy meal that's perfect for a busy weeknight. With just a few simple ingredients, you can have a flavorful and satisfying dish that the whole family will love. So next time you're looking for an easy and delicious meal, give this recipe a try!
