CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRIES - SIMPLE STYLE
These Cherries are great. They are made with Marshmallow creme instead of condensed milk. They are very easy to make - especially if you've never tried to make them before! My mother in law passed the recipe on to me and they are very rich - but very good! A perfect valentines day treat.

Steps:
- Pour the sugar into a shallow dish. Drop two drops of vanilla at a time into the dish in 24 separate places to form lumps of vanilla sugar. Set aside to allow the lumps to harden.
- Pit the cherries carefully from the bottom. I use a small curved dental tool. Make sure the stem stays intact.
- When the lumps of sugar have hardened, insert them into the cherries where the pits were; set aside. Melt chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth.
- Hold cherries by the stem and dip into the chocolate leaving the very top uncovered. Set on waxed paper to dry. Refrigerate overnight to allow the sugar lumps to dissolve.

Tips:
- Fresh Cherries: Use fresh, ripe cherries for the best flavor and texture. If using frozen cherries, thaw them completely before using.
- Pit Cherries: Use a cherry pitter to easily remove the pits from the cherries. If you don't have a cherry pitter, you can use a straw or a paperclip to push the pits out.
- Chocolate Chips: Use semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips for the best flavor. You can also use chopped chocolate bars or melting chocolate.
- Graham Cracker Crumbs: Use finely crushed graham cracker crumbs for the best texture. You can crush the graham crackers in a food processor or by hand.
- Chill Before Serving: Chill the dipped cherries for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the chocolate to set completely.
Conclusion:
Smores dipped cherries are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are a great way to use up leftover graham cracker crumbs and chocolate chips, and they are always a hit with kids and adults alike. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sweet and indulgent treat that is sure to satisfy your cravings.
