Tips:
- Use fresh cranberries. Fresh cranberries have a tart and tangy flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweet and creamy sour cream filling. If you can't find fresh cranberries, you can use frozen cranberries, but be sure to thaw them completely before using.
- Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the bars tough. Stir just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the bars until they are just set. The bars should be firm to the touch, but not dry. An inserted toothpick should come out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting them. This will help them to set and hold their shape.
- Serve the bars with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream. This will make them even more delicious!
Conclusion:
Sour cream and cranberry bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are made with a simple batter that is filled with tart and tangy cranberries and a sweet and creamy sour cream filling. The bars are baked until they are just set and then cooled completely before cutting. They can be served on their own or with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.
