Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

16 ounces pizza dough, ball (1 pound)
1/2 cup pizza sauce
4 fresh garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
1 1/2 cups queso fresco, crumbled
1/2 cup chorizo sausage, cooked and crumbled
4 green onions, chopped
1 large red chili, thinly sliced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
  • Roll the pizza dough on a floured surface and place on a cookie sheet.
  • Spread the pizza sauce over top. Cover with a sprinkling of garlic, then a 1/2 cup of queso fresco. Top with chorizo and green onion, then cover with the remaining cheese and chili slices. Cook until the crust is golden brown (10 to 12 minutes). Garnish with cilantro.
  • Note: I prefer my crust prebaked for a crispier crumb. May need to reduce final cook time.

Time 1h

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 (8 ounce) packages Pillsbury Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls
1 lb ground beef
1 onion, diced
1 (1 1/2 ounce) package taco seasoning
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 cup chili sauce
salt and pepper
8 ounces refried beans, my preference is bean dip
4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
4 ounces parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Sauté beef and onion.
  • Add chili sauce, chili powder, taco seasoning and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add refried beans or bean dip.
  • Open crescent rolls and lay flat on shallow baking pan or cookie sheet with one-inch side; forming a pizza shell.
  • Spread cooked beef onto pizza shell. Top with cheeses.
  • Bake at 350° for 1/2 hour or until pizza crust is golden brown.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of toppings: Don't be afraid to experiment with different toppings, such as grilled vegetables, meats, and cheeses. You can also add a drizzle of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, or pesto sauce to add extra flavor.
  • Cook the pizza at a high temperature: This will help to create a crispy crust and prevent the toppings from becoming soggy.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients will always taste better than processed ingredients. If you can, try to use organic and locally-sourced ingredients.
  • Don't overcrowd the pizza: If you overload the pizza with toppings, it will be difficult to cook evenly. Aim for a thin layer of toppings so that the pizza cooks evenly.
  • Let the pizza rest before slicing: This will help to prevent the toppings from falling off the pizza.

Conclusion:

South American pizza is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With its crispy crust, flavorful toppings, and variety of cooking methods, South American pizza is sure to become a favorite in your home. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give South American pizza a try! You won't be disappointed.
