Tips:

  • Use quality ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients will make a big difference in the taste of your cake.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy: This will help to incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter, more tender cake.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition: This will help to prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined: Overmixing the batter can result in a tough cake.
  • Pour the batter into a prepared 9x13 inch baking pan: Make sure the pan is greased and floured, or lined with parchment paper, to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • Bake the cake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean: Do not overbake the cake, as this will dry it out.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting: This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Frost the cake with your favorite frosting: Chocolate ganache, cream cheese frosting, or whipped cream are all popular choices.
