SPICED ALMOND COOKIES

Spiced Almond Cookies image

These cookies are my all-time favorite! The recipe has won ribbons at fairs and applause from family and guests alike. One of the reasons I like it is that I can make the dough and freeze it. Then, when I need another batch of cookies, I take a "log" out of the freezer, thaw it and make fresh cookies in minutes. -Wanda Daily, Milwaukie, Oregon

Tips:

  • To ensure your cookies have a soft and chewy texture, make sure to chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help prevent the cookies from spreading too much in the oven.
  • If you don't have a rolling pin, you can use a wine bottle or even a glass to roll out the dough. Just make sure to use a light touch so you don't tear the dough.
  • To get evenly shaped cookies, use a cookie cutter that is about 2 inches in diameter. If you don't have a cookie cutter, you can use a sharp knife to cut the dough into squares or triangles.
  • Before baking, brush the tops of the cookies with an egg wash. This will help them brown nicely in the oven.
  • Keep an eye on the cookies while they are baking. They should be done when the edges are golden brown and the centers are set. Overbaking will make the cookies dry and crumbly.

Conclusion:

These spiced almond cookies are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. So next time you're in the mood for a sweet treat, give these cookies a try!
