I learned this recipe from a restaurant in a town named Opelousas, lots of paprika are called for here, I recommend starting small, then adding more. There are no tomatoes in this recipe, so it is faster than normal jambalaya.

The chef Paul Prudhomme's unassailably authentic seafood jambalaya requires two hours of cooking time, apart from the preparation. This version stands up reasonably well, and cuts down the preparation and cooking time to just under 60 minutes.

THE CAPTAIN'S FAMOUS JAMBALAYA
This jambalaya may have been a few places since the bayou, but it's a thick, rich dish that everyone will love! I've experimented with many types of seafood in this recipe, and the flavor and consistency of snapper works the best. Serve with French bread and hot red pepper sauce!

CHEF JOHN'S SAUSAGE & SHRIMP JAMBALAYA
While true jambalaya is really more of a thicker rice stew than a soup, it's one of those dishes that more stock can be added to easily make it into a soup recipe. Serve garnished with green onion.

This is essential for getting the right flavor in your jambalaya. You can find Cajun seasoning at most grocery stores. - Don't be afraid to experiment with different ingredients. There are many different ways to make jambalaya, so feel free to add or remove ingredients to suit your own taste. - Serve jambalaya with rice. This is the traditional way to serve jambalaya. You can also serve it with pasta or bread. Conclusion:
Jambalaya is a delicious and versatile dish that is perfect for any occasion. It's a great way to use up leftover seafood and vegetables, and it's also a great dish to serve at parties or potlucks. If you've never tried jambalaya before, I encourage you to give it a try. You won't be disappointed!
