Steps:
- Combine coleslaw, chopped scallions and broken noodles in very large bowl.
- Bake almonds& sesame seeds onto ungreased cookie sheet at 300 degrees for 5-7 minutes, then toss into slaw-scallion-noodle combo bowl.
- Mix the salad oil, sugar, Accent, rice wine vinegar, salt & pepper in separate bowl.
- Mix into salad mixture.
- Marinate overnight, stir occasionally.
- *Make sure noodles are very broken up, and very soft when serving this; important to marinate overnight!
- *I usually double the ingredients in step #3; add 1/2 of dressing to salad for overnight marination and add other half upon serving, to freshen up the salad if needed. The noodles tend to soak up the dressing overnight, especially if using 5 packages of noodles.
ASIAN STYLE SLAW
I always like to have a few salads at my BBQ to balance out the heavier stuff. Cole slaw is one of the classics, and I love it, but I like to make it my own by mixing in a few Asian flavors. I use the pre-shredded coleslaw mix that comes in bags at the supermarket or for red and green shredded cabbage packaged separately. And then I dress it up with some other fresh ingredients to make an outstanding and different kind of slaw.

Steps:
- Rough up the scallion slices a little with your fingers so all the little layers of the scallion whites separate. Toss the coleslaw mix or both kinds of cabbage, the red onion and scallions together in a large bowl until everything is thoroughly mixed. You can make the slaw up to this point up to a day in advance as long as you keep it refrigerated. Before serving, simply bring the slaw back to room temperature, make the dressing and toss.
- Stir the remaining ingredients together in a small bowl until blended, then pour over the vegetables. Serve within 1 hour of dressing or the cabbage will get wilty and sad.
ORIENTAL SALAD/SUMI SALAD
This recipe is so good. It has character with all the ingredients used. I got this from my friend, Cindy, whom I work with. Try it--it is delicious.

Steps:
- Toast almonds and sunflower or sesame seeds in butter.
- Cool and set aside.
- Break up 2 packages (uncooked Ramen noodles).
- Just before serving, toss slaw mix, green onions, almonds and seeds.
- Mix dressing ingredients in a covered container and shake well to dissolve all the sugar.
- (You can heat up the vinegar to help dissolve the sugar) Pour dressing just before serving.
- This dressing recipe is for one batch slaw mix, but I have used it for almost double the amount of slaw mix and it is plenty and still taste good.

Tips:
- Feel free to experiment with different types of vegetables in your slaw. Some good options include shredded cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, and snap peas.
- If you don't have rice vinegar on hand, you can substitute white vinegar or apple cider vinegar.
- For a spicier slaw, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or Sriracha sauce to the dressing.
- If you're serving the slaw right away, you can skip the chilling step. However, chilling the slaw for at least 30 minutes will help the flavors to meld and develop.
- Serve the slaw as a side dish or as a topping for grilled chicken, fish, or tofu.

Sumi salad, also known as Asian slaw, is a refreshing and flavorful dish that's perfect for a light lunch or dinner. It's also a great way to use up leftover vegetables.
