Time 35m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb ground chuck
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (30 ounce) can refried beans
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies
3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
3/4 cup taco sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Cook ground chuck with onion.
  • Spread refried beans in a 2 quart casserole.
  • Top with meat.
  • Top with green chilies.
  • Cover evenly with cheese.
  • Pour taco sauce over all.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes.
  • Garnish with your choice of chopped green onions, olives, avocado dip or sour cream.
  • Serve with tortilla chips.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chips. Sturdy tortilla chips that won't get soggy are the best choice for nachos. Look for chips that are made with corn tortillas, as they have a more authentic flavor than chips made with flour tortillas.
  • Layer the ingredients carefully. Start with a layer of chips, then add a layer of cheese. Repeat this process until you have reached the desired height for your nachos. Be sure to add some toppings to each layer, such as beans, meat, vegetables, and salsa.
  • Use fresh ingredients. The fresher the ingredients, the better your nachos will taste. Use ripe vegetables, fresh herbs, and high-quality cheese.
  • Don't overcrowd the nachos. You want to be able to see all of the layers of ingredients, so don't pile them on too thick. If you're making a large batch of nachos, consider using multiple trays or platters.
  • Bake the nachos until the cheese is melted and bubbly. This will help to hold the ingredients together and create a delicious, gooey mess.
  • Serve the nachos immediately. Nachos are best when they are served hot and fresh. If you need to make them ahead of time, you can assemble the nachos and then bake them just before serving.

Conclusion:

Nachos are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With so many different ways to make them, there's sure to be a nacho recipe that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give nachos a try. You won't be disappointed!
