Tips:

  • To save time, use pre-roasted red peppers from a jar. Look for jars that have peppers packed in water, not oil. You should find them in the canned vegetable section of your grocery store.
  • If you're using fresh red peppers, roast them yourself. Cut the peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and ribs. Toss the peppers with olive oil and salt, and roast them at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes, or until they're charred and slightly softened. Let the peppers cool slightly before handling.
  • To make the hummus extra creamy, use a food processor fitted with a metal blade. Process the hummus until it's smooth and creamy, with no lumps. You can also use a blender, but be sure to blend the hummus on high speed until it's smooth.
  • Add a little spice to the hummus by adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder. You can also add a tablespoon of Sriracha sauce for a bit of extra heat.
  • Serve the hummus with your favorite dippers, such as pita chips, vegetables, or crackers.

Conclusion:

Sweet red pepper hummus is a delicious and versatile dip that can be enjoyed as an appetizer, snack, or even a light meal. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a healthy and flavorful dip, give sweet red pepper hummus a try!
