SWEET SESAME LOAF

Sweet Sesame Loaf image

Just made this last night & it was a huge hit! I originally acquired this recipe while on a trip to Europe years ago, & just dug it out to try since I was having a few girls over for tea. The original recipe is written out in European measurements, & 1/2 way thru I got stuck on a few of the conversions. Thanks to some very helpful JAP members in the "general questions group" the correct conversions were made & the recipe turned out perfect! (I think everyone should join that group on here. It is so helpful to get the immediate help of others when in a jam like that.) This turned out to be a wonderfully moist, flavorful, & attractive loaf that I plan to prepare often for afternoon tea, brunch, etc. Had a slice this morn' w/my morning coffee. Delicious! The nutty flavor of the toasted sesame seeds along w/the light lemon undertones just come together perfectly. I think this one's a winner!

Tips for Making Sweet Sesame Bread:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh, high-quality ingredients will result in a more flavorful and delicious bread.
  • Proof the yeast correctly: This is an important step in the bread-making process, as it allows the yeast to activate and grow. If the yeast is not properly proofed, the bread will not rise properly.
  • Knead the dough thoroughly: Kneading the dough develops the gluten, which gives the bread its structure and texture. Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place: This will help the dough to double in size. If the dough is not risen properly, the bread will be dense and heavy.
  • Bake the bread at a high temperature: This will create a crispy crust and a fluffy interior.
  • Brush the bread with sesame oil before baking: This will give the bread a beautiful golden color and a slightly nutty flavor.
  • Serve the bread warm or at room temperature: Sweet sesame bread is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but it can also be served at room temperature.

Conclusion:

Sweet sesame bread is a delicious and versatile bread that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is a popular choice for Chinese New Year, but it can also be enjoyed year-round. With its slightly sweet flavor and nutty aroma, sweet sesame bread is a surefire crowd-pleaser. So next time you are looking for a delicious and easy-to-make bread recipe, give sweet sesame bread a try.
