HOMEMADE DOG TREATS (TANGO'S TREATS)

Homemade Dog Treats (Tango's Treats) image

My dogs--especially my puppy, Tango Foxtrot--loved carrots, apples, and peanut butter. So, for his first birthday, I combined Tango's favorite flavors into a special treat just for him. Make sure to use a natural peanut butter that does not contain added salt, sugar, or other ingredients. Keep extra treats stored in the fridge.

Tips:

  • Choose the right ingredients: Use fresh, high-quality ingredients that are safe for dogs. Avoid ingredients that are toxic to dogs, such as chocolate, grapes, and onions.
  • Follow the recipe carefully: Doggy biscuits are a delicate treat, and it's important to follow the recipe carefully to ensure they turn out perfectly. Be sure to measure the ingredients accurately and mix them in the correct order.
  • Knead the dough properly: Kneading the dough is an important step that helps to develop the gluten and make the biscuits chewy. Be sure to knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Chill the dough before baking: Chilling the dough before baking helps to prevent the biscuits from spreading too much in the oven. This will help them to keep their shape and texture.
  • Bake the biscuits until they are golden brown: The biscuits are done baking when they are golden brown around the edges. Be careful not to overbake them, or they will become dry and crumbly.

Conclusion:

With a little care and attention, you can easily make delicious and nutritious doggy biscuits at home. These treats are a great way to show your dog how much you love them, and they're also a healthy and affordable alternative to store-bought treats. So next time you're looking for a special treat for your furry friend, try one of these recipes. Your dog will thank you for it!
