BAKED PENNE WITH THREE CHEESES

Baked Penne with Three Cheeses image

I don't believe in serving kids macaroni and cheese every day. It should be treated as an indulgence, because that's what it is. This is my version of the classic macaroni and cheese Xea's grandmother makes. Older kids can easily make this by themselves. Add a big green salad and they can have dinner ready before you get home from work!

Tips:

  • Choose the right pasta. Penne is a great choice for this dish because it holds the sauce well and is easy to eat. However, you can use any type of pasta that you like.
  • Use a variety of cheeses. The three cheeses used in this recipe (Parmesan, mozzarella, and ricotta) create a rich and flavorful sauce. Feel free to experiment with other types of cheeses, such as cheddar, Gruyère, or Asiago.
  • Don't overcook the pasta. Cook the pasta al dente, which means it should be tender but still have a slight bite to it. Overcooked pasta will be mushy and won't hold the sauce as well.
  • Make sure the sauce is hot and bubbly. The sauce should be hot and bubbly before you add the pasta. This will help to ensure that the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.
  • Bake the dish until the cheese is melted and golden brown. This will take about 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye on the dish so that the cheese doesn't burn.
  • Let the dish cool slightly before serving. This will help to prevent the cheese from becoming stringy.

Conclusion:

Three-cheese baked penne is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover pasta and cheese, and it can be easily tailored to your own taste preferences. With a few simple tips, you can make a three-cheese baked penne that is sure to impress your friends and family.
