Tips:

  • Prep the Spinach: Before adding the spinach to the filling, make sure to wash and thoroughly dry it to prevent excess moisture in the calzones.
  • Use Fresh Herbs: For an extra burst of flavor, incorporate fresh herbs like basil, oregano, or thyme into the filling.
  • Control the Salt: Be careful not to over-salt the spinach mixture, as the cheeses will also contribute saltiness to the calzones.
  • Stretchy Cheese Blend: For the best gooey and stretchy filling, use a combination of mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses.
  • Seal Properly: To prevent the calzones from bursting open during baking, ensure they are sealed tightly by pressing the edges together with a fork or crimping them with your fingers.
