2 tablespoons butter
ΒΌ cup lemon juice
1 cup steak sauce (e.g. A-1)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 fluid ounces dry sherry or Madeira
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon canola oil

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

Sixteen 15-count black tiger shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup white Zinfandel
1 pound fettuccine
1/4 cup sweet cream butter
4 tablespoons minced garlic
Pinch salt
2 cups whipping cream
Parmesan
Slivered almonds

Steps:

  • Steam shrimp in wine until they turn pink, about 3 to 5 minutes. Cook fettuccine noodles, in boiling, salted water. Drain and keep warm.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter and saute garlic until golden. Add salt and whipping cream and reduce until the consistency of a thick sauce. Add a little of the wine mixture to the sauce.
  • Spoon sauce over noodles and arrange 4 shrimp around each plate. Garnish with Parmesan and almonds.

Tips:

  • Use fresh shrimp. Fresh shrimp will have a sweeter flavor and a more tender texture than frozen shrimp.
  • Clean the shrimp properly. Be sure to remove the heads, tails, and veins from the shrimp before cooking them.
  • Marinate the shrimp. Marinating the shrimp in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and herbs will help to infuse them with flavor.
  • Cook the shrimp over high heat. This will help to sear the shrimp and prevent them from becoming tough.
  • Do not overcook the shrimp. Shrimp should be cooked just until they are opaque and pink. Overcooked shrimp will be tough and rubbery.
  • Serve the shrimp immediately. Shrimp are best served hot and fresh.

Conclusion:

Tipsy shrimp is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. The shrimp are marinated in a mixture of white wine, lemon juice, garlic, and herbs, then cooked until they are opaque and pink. The shrimp can be served with a variety of dipping sauces, such as cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or remoulade.
