TORTILLA CHIP CRUST FOR SAVORY PIE (QUICHE, MEXICAN PIE, ETC.)
Great use for those extra little pieces at the bottom of the bag, or chips that are going slightly stale. It's extremely easy, made with the same method as a graham cracker crust. I find that a blender or food processor works best for getting these crushed finely enough - roughly the same as graham cracker crumbs. If you're using salted chips, be sure to omit or adjust any salt in your recipe.

- Bake at 400 for 15 minutes, fill with taco/chili filling and continue to bake for 45 minutes or until pie is done.
Tips:
- Choose the Right Tortillas: Opt for fresh, pliable tortillas that are soft and easy to work with. Look for high-quality brands that use authentic ingredients.
- Prepare Your Fillings Wisely: Pre-cook any meats or vegetables you plan to use in your filling to ensure they are fully cooked and flavorful. Season them well to enhance their taste.
- Don't Overload the Crust: While it's tempting to pack in as much filling as possible, avoid overloading the tortilla crust. Too much filling can make it difficult to fold and seal properly, leading to a messy and unappetizing result.
- Master the Folding Technique: Experiment with different folding methods to find the one that works best for you. Common techniques include the classic half-moon fold, the envelope fold, and the burrito fold. Practice makes perfect, so don't be discouraged if your first few attempts aren't flawless.
- Use the Right Cooking Method: Depending on the type of tortilla crust recipe you choose, you can cook it in a skillet, on a griddle, or in the oven. Make sure to follow the recipe's instructions carefully to achieve the desired texture and don't overcook the crust.
