Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/4 cup low-fat ranch dressing
2 tablespoons chipotle salsa
1/4 teaspoon finely grated orange zest
4 8-inch flour tortillas
12 ounces sliced oven-roasted deli-style turkey breast
1 ripe Hass avocado, pitted, peeled, and sliced
2 cups mesclun lettuce or sprigs cilantro
1 1/2 cups grated jicama
1 tomato, thinly sliced
2 scallions (white and green parts), thinly sliced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Combine ranch dressing with salsa and orange zest in a small bowl. Place tortillas on a cutting board, and evenly spread dressing, leaving about a 1-inch border, over each.
  • 2. Layer turkey, avocado, lettuce, jicama, tomato, and scallions, leaving border, over each tortilla. Season with salt and pepper. Roll up into a pinwheel log. Cut in half and serve.

Tips:

  • To make the wraps easier to roll, warm the tortillas in the microwave for a few seconds until they are pliable.
  • Use fresh, ripe avocados for the best flavor. If your avocados are not ripe, you can speed up the ripening process by placing them in a paper bag with an apple or banana.
  • If you don't have any cranberry sauce on hand, you can substitute another sweet and tart sauce, such as raspberry sauce or even ketchup.
  • To make the wraps more filling, add some cooked protein, such as grilled chicken or shrimp.
  • For a vegetarian wrap, use crumbled tofu or tempeh instead of the turkey.

Conclusion:

Turkey avocado wraps are a delicious and healthy lunch or snack that can be made in just a few minutes. They are packed with protein, healthy fats, and fiber, and they are also a good source of vitamins and minerals. With a variety of flavors and textures, these wraps are sure to please everyone. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy meal, give turkey avocado wraps a try!
