2 1/2 c sugar
1 c cooking oil
3 c flour (all purpose)
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 c orange juice
4 eggs

Steps:

  • 1. Beat sugar and eggs together. Ad oil, orange juice and vanilla. Blend well. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together and add gradually to the sugar mixture.
  • 2. Grease and flour lightly a Bundt pan or 10 inch tube pan. Mix together the ingredients for the filling: Apples, cinnamon, sugar, walnuts and raisins. Pour half of batter in pan and add filling on top
  • 3. Cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350' for 50--60 minutes. Check for doneness. Enjoy !
  • 4. You might want to top this cake with a dusting of confectioner's sugar or your favorite glaze. My favorite is a light cream cheese glaze.

Tips:

  • Use the Right Apples: For the best flavor and texture, choose a variety of apples that are good for baking, such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Braeburn.
  • Prepare the Apples Properly: Peel and core the apples, then cut them into thin slices. This will help them cook evenly and create a tender texture.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the cake will taste. If possible, use organic ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter can make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the Cake at the Right Temperature: The cake should be baked at 350°F for about an hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the Cake Cool Completely: Before serving, let the cake cool completely. This will help the flavors to develop and the cake to set.
