Categories     Cookies     Dessert

Yield 4 dozen

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 c soft butter - no substitutes
8 oz soft cream cheese
2 c sugar
2 egg yolks
1 t vanilla
4 1/2 c flour

Steps:

  • Beat the butter and cream cheese until light, then beat in the sugar and eggs until fluffy. Add vanilla, then the flour. Form 2 discs of dough and chill at least 2 hours. Roll out fairly thick (1/4") and bake at 350º just until set, NOT brown, about 10 minutes.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use high-quality ingredients.
  • Make sure your butter and cream cheese are at room temperature before you start baking.
  • Be careful not to overmix the dough, as this can make the cookies tough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. This will help prevent the cookies from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Use a sharp knife or cookie cutter to cut out the cookies. This will help prevent the edges from becoming ragged.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set around the edges, but still soft in the center. This will help prevent them from becoming dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them. This will help prevent the frosting from melting.

Conclusion:

White velvet cutout cookies are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be decorated in a variety of ways. With a little creativity, you can create unique and beautiful cookies that will impress your friends and family.
