Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup flour ((I like to use Wondra flour but regular flour is great too))
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
pinch salt
20 chicken wings
oil for deep frying
1/3 cup Franks Hot Sauce ((It has to be Franks Hot Sauce, no other sauce will taste as good))
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • Mix the flour, cayenne and salt together in a bowl.
  • Place chicken wings in a large bowl and toss with flour mixture until they are evenly coated (or you can do it the Shake n' Bake way and put it all in a large and coat 5 or so wings at a time so they get evenly covered).
  • Cover bowl and refrigerate for about an hour.
  • Make Wingers Freakin Amazing Sauce (below)
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees.
  • Fry coated wings in hot oil for 10 to 15 minutes, or until parts of wings begin to turn brown.
  • Remove from heat, place wings in serving bowl, add sauce mixture and stir together.
  • Heat up hot sauce, brown sugar, and water in a saucepan until all the sugar dissolves.
  • Remove sauce from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature before adding to wings OR prepare ahead of time and refrigerate.
  • The wings turn out best if you don't pour warm sauce over them. You want it nice and thick.

Winger's Wing Sauce image

This sauce tastes exactly like Winger's wing sauce. Sweet and delicious. I found this recipe on copykat.com I haven't tried it yet but I love Winger's sauce so I'll be trying it soon. Winger's wing sauce is great on more than just wings. I use it on chicken breast sandwiches, chicken and rice and even on veggies. It's got a sweet taste and goes great on just about anything.

Time 10m

Yield 1 cup, 6-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

1 cup Frank's red hot sauce
1 cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Using a sauce pan on low heat from the stove add all the ingredients. Stir slowly. The stove doesn't need to be hot because all we're doing is melting the brown sugar into Frank's Red Hot.
  • After a few minutes all the brown sugar should have dissolved into the sauce. If it needs thickening add more brown sugar or let stand.
  • There is no step three. It's that easy.

If you know someone from Buffalo, they know someone who told them the secret ingredients to the Anchor Bar's famous Buffalo chicken wings. I know people from Buffalo. This is my version, as described to me many years ago, over almost as many beers.

BEST HOT WING SAUCE IN AMERICA

Best Hot Wing Sauce in America image

This sauce is simply the best one that I have ever used! My family really enjoys this on wings and other things. Try something off the wall and fry up some potatoes and put this sauce on for a treat, or try using it as a toasted bread dipping sauce for a unique treat!

Time 7m

Yield 1 1/4 Cups sauce, 5-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 tablespoons butter
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup Frank's red hot sauce (Only use this!)
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 -3 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional depending on how hot you like it!) (optional)

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in the pan.
  • Add the garlic and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add the flour and whisk until smooth, cook for 1 more minute.
  • Add the Franks and the vinegar, bring to a boil.
  • If desired add the pepper flakes and simmer for 2 or 3 minutes.
  • Pour over the food of your choice and enjoy.

Tips:

  • Choose the right wings: Fresh, plump chicken wings are essential for making great wings. Look for wings that are free of blemishes and have a good amount of meat on them.
  • Dry the wings thoroughly: Before cooking the wings, make sure to pat them dry with paper towels. This will help the sauce or seasoning to adhere better.
  • Use a high-quality oil: When frying or baking the wings, use a high-quality oil that can withstand high temperatures. Some good options include vegetable oil, canola oil, or peanut oil.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the wings, don't overcrowd the pan. This will prevent them from cooking evenly.
  • Cook the wings until they are cooked through: The wings should be cooked until they are cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). You can check this by inserting a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the wing.
  • Serve the wings with your favorite sauce or seasoning: Once the wings are cooked, you can serve them with your favorite sauce or seasoning. Some popular options include Buffalo sauce, barbecue sauce, or ranch dressing.

Conclusion:

Making delicious chicken wings at home is easy and fun. By following these tips, you can create wings that are crispy, flavorful, and sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a party appetizer or a game-day snack, give these recipes a try. You won't be disappointed!
