From Alton Brown and the Food Network. This is a great little tip for "writing" on your edibles. Use it on cakes, cookies, muffins, pancakes, whatever. You're only limited by your imagination. I have also used this recipe with white chocolate chips, worked very well. You don't even need pastry bags or tips for this one. Yield is approximate, as I didn't measure the chocolate once melted.

Tips for Creating Mouthwatering Chocolate Recipes

  • Choose high-quality chocolate. The type of chocolate you use will have a big impact on the final flavor of your dish. Look for chocolate with a high cocoa content (at least 70%) and avoid chocolate that contains artificial flavors or preservatives.
  • Temper your chocolate. Tempering is a process that helps to stabilize the chocolate, making it easier to work with and giving it a smooth, glossy finish. To temper chocolate, melt it slowly over a double boiler, stirring constantly. Once the chocolate has reached 110 degrees Fahrenheit, remove it from the heat and stir it until it cools to 88 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, return the chocolate to the heat and stir until it reaches 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Finally, remove the chocolate from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Use a variety of chocolate flavors. Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of chocolate. There are many different flavors of chocolate available, from dark and bitter to milk and sweet. Try using a combination of different flavors to create a unique and delicious dessert.
  • Pair chocolate with other flavors. Chocolate pairs well with a variety of other flavors, such as fruits, nuts, spices, and herbs. Experiment with different combinations to create your own unique flavor profiles.
  • Don't overcook chocolate. Chocolate is a delicate ingredient that can easily be overcooked. When melting chocolate, use low heat and stir constantly. Never boil chocolate, as this will cause it to seize.
